FAQs
Ask us the awkward ones.
Warranties have a reputation, and it's mostly deserved. These are the questions that decide whether a provider is worth your money — answered the way we'd want them answered.
Is this insurance?
WarrantyBee plans are service contracts between you and us — we promise to repair the covered parts of your car if they fail. They aren't insurance policies, which means simpler paperwork and no excess games, but you still get a 30-day cooling-off period and our complaints process is independent.
Who repairs my car?
One of the 2,400+ independent garages in the WarrantyBee network. Every garage is vetted before it joins — premises inspected, technician qualifications checked, workmanship guaranteed — and monitored on every claim we pay. When something goes wrong, call us first and we'll book you into a vetted garage near you. We pay them directly, so you never pay and claim back.
What about wear and tear?
Parts that are designed to wear out — brake pads, discs, tyres, wiper blades, bulbs — aren't covered on any plan. On Complete, parts that fail earlier than they reasonably should are covered even when wear contributed to the failure, which is the gap most warranties hide in.
How quickly are claims paid?
Call us and we'll usually have you booked into a network garage the same day. Once their diagnosis and estimate arrive, most claims are authorised the same working day, and we pay the garage as soon as the work is done — typically within 48 hours of the invoice.
Can I cancel?
Yes, anytime. Cancel within the first 30 days for a full refund if you haven't claimed. After that, monthly plans just stop at your next payment date, and annual plans are refunded pro rata.
Are existing faults covered?
No — a warranty covers things that go wrong after it starts, not before. There's a 30-day and 500-mile waiting period on new plans so that cover starts from a known-good baseline. Be wary of any provider that says otherwise.
What happens if I sell the car?
Your plan transfers to the new owner for free, which usually helps the car sell faster and for more. Or you can cancel and move the remaining value towards a plan for your next car.
Do I have to service the car at a main dealer?
No. Keep the car serviced roughly in line with the manufacturer's schedule — at any VAT-registered garage — and keep the receipts. That's it.
Something we haven't covered? Ask us directly — a person replies, usually the same day.
